In a significant move supporting Omani Environmental, Social and Community governance, Copart Middle East proudly announces its strategic partnership with Madayn in Oman. It is a collaboration that focuses on the responsible identification, recovery, and remarketing via auction of abandoned vehicles in the Sultanate’s industrial zones. The comprehensive agreement will see Copart, on Madayn’s behalf, survey certain demarcated industrial areas to identify potential abandoned vehicles. The process continues with the clear and unambiguous labelling of a suspected abandoned vehicle and the onset of a grace period, by the end of which, the owner should remove the vehicle for legitimate safekeeping. In the event the grace period lapses, Copart will recover the vehicle to its yard, secure all regulatory approvals, and begin its global best-in-class digital auction process.

This unique collaboration not only addresses the challenge of abandoned vehicles but also underscores a commitment of both Parties to environmental sustainability and an improved industrial community experience. Commenting on this collaboration the Engineer Ali Bin Salem Al Maashani, General Manager of the Wadi Al Kabir Industrial Project, adds: “Our partnership with Copart Oman stems from their possession of cutting-edge facilities. This collaboration will significantly enhance the infrastructure to accommodate various small-scale elements, thereby enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the industrial city.”Commenting on the collaboration, Colin Cordery, Managing Director, Copart Middle East, adds:

“Our business, at its core, enables the reuse and recycling of vehicles and their component parts. The extension of the useful life of such vehicles and component parts plays a vital role in eliminating significant carbon emissions that would have resulted from the de novo manufacturing process and delimits the burden on natural resources. It is extremely encouraging to see, and be part of, Madayn’s forward-looking approach to a sustainable industrial communities in the Sultanate of Oman.”
